ISSI’s constitutional structure (Articles of Association ISSI-Statute) includes a President, Secretary-Treasurer, and between six to eight Board members. To date, ISSI Board meetings have been held in association with the conference every two years. At present, ISSI’s financial structure is insufficient for the support of activities of a substantial nature. Thus, ISSI has been unable to provide host countries financial support in the running of the biennial conferences.

Board meetings are held every two years in conjunction with the ISSI Conference. At each Board meeting, selected guests and visitors may be invited to attend the meeting, particularly those who are potential hosts for future conferences. At the meeting, tenders or offers from potential hosts and venues for future conferences are discussed. The ISSI Board confirms the site for the next conference to the host organization.
