The Sydney ISSI 2001 Conference

Conference Location

The ISSI 2001 Conference will be held at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. The UNSW is quite close to the city of Sydney - a short bus ride of about 20 minutes. It is close to the surf beaches of Bondi, Coogee and Bronte, all of which are on the Pacific East Coast of Australia and are within ten minutes drive from the University.

The venue for the conference is UNSW's Scientia building which was built and completed in 1999.

Prices in Sydney and around Australia are generally similar to those in Europe or the United States. 

Social events are an integral part of the Conference program where we expect participants to get to know each other, or to plan collaborations, or to continue discussions related to presentations during the day.

We plan to organise a full program of events that will give participants a flavour of Sydney and its famous Harbour, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. We also wish you to enjoy some of the food and wine of this country at the Conference Dinner and during the conference at lunch.

In addition, several walks along interesting paths round the harbour edge and along the main Coastal Walk from Bondi to Coogee will be arranged. It is planned that these walks will be for those arrive a little beforehand, or those who stay on a few days after the conference.
